Cupcakes at the Castle has a ring to it and was the focus on my most recent wedding cake set up.
The wedding was held at Highcliffe Castle in Dorset. It is such a stunning venue with high ceilings and the most beautiful architecture. If you have never visited before I highly recommend it, and even better its open to the public.
The wedding was in one of Highcliffe’s great halls with high ceilings, stain glass windows and tall pillars. The cupcake tower was set up with the stone wall and pillars as a back drop.
Cupcake flavours followed a boozy theme with a mix of Limoncello, Baileys and Cherry Bakewell cupcakes all topped with little sugar hearts. The top cutting cake was a traditional victoria sponge semi-naked cake. The whole thing was dressed with flowers by Floral Design by Stephanie Jevons, she is highly recommended and I’ve had the pleasure to work with her on a few weddings, each being one of my favourites.
This is what the couple had to say about their cake “Just wanted to thank you for yesterday – the cakes were delicious and the display looked beautiful.”
Cupcakes are always a popular choice for a wedding as they do not need cutting and are already in perfect portion sizes. One of the main advantages of cupcakes is the number ordered can be adjusted once all the RSVP’s are in, as you are never quite sure on numbers until this point.
